Salmon Fly Fishing Techniques

Salmon is a cold water fish which spends most of its time out at sea, but returns to their inland spawning grounds on a seasonal basis, typically occurring in autumn, winter and spring months dependant upon species and location.

Fly fishing for salmon is performed during this spawning period when Salmon make their way up rivers to their spawning ground. It is best to check with the local river for the date of their spawning season.
