Top Ten Flies August 2020
Phew, what a relief! Those storms have really cooled things back down to bearable levels, and those showers have helped reduce water temperatures allowing more oxygen to energise those lethargic fish again.
This is the first time we have seen both of our snails hit the top 2 spots in our chart. They have grown in popularity since we started producing them, maybe helped by being a popular choice in the recent hot weather; we are designing new varieties, so keep an eye on our newsletters for more info nearer the time.
There are many popular patterns in August, and a very pleasant mixture in this chart, with Shuttlecocks temptingly dangling from the surface, Klink 'n Dink being used with droppers, Gnats which peak in popularity in August (maybe because there are so many around!) and some golden head lures which start to gain popularity now well into the autumn.
To finish off, it's always nice to see some Salmon patterns make the chart.
