New fly fishing patterns introduced in 2019

In 2019 we tied 45 brand new patterns; the vast majority are from pattern requests made by our members. Anyone can make new pattern requests from our extensive library of flies by clicking on 'Request your interest' on any pattern currently unavailable for sale, or by contacting us with details of patterns you are trying to obtain.

We regularly take requests from our members for new patterns. Whilst some of these patterns are from our extensive library of flies, others are patterns which customers are struggling to get hold of elsewhere and yet others have been developed by fly fishermen who no longer wish to tie the fly themselves.

These new patterns often prove to be very popular, they may be unique, a variation of an existing pattern and some are even rare but we have realised that it is not always obvious they are now available. That is why we have decided to create a detailed list of new patterns which we have stocked for the very first time.

All patterns in this section are shown regardless of their status; some may have already sold out, but like all our flies, if you can't buy them now you can always request more to be made up!

Mayflies

New CDC Flies

Patterns with CDC feathers are a popular choice when small hatches occur. They are naturally buoyant, floating above the water like a trapped fly. Be prepared and always keep a few CDC patterns in your flybox in case the opportunity arises

Winged, Hacked and Spinners

These dry flies are attractive to trout, with their wings making them sit on the water.

Fry

Extending our Fry selection for some autumn fishing with a selection pack.

Nymphs

These mimic small bugs and larvae living in the water before hatching. These are a staple diet for fish throughout the year, so never go without some nymphs.

Terrestrials

Following success with our Green Snail, the Grey variant has gain popular interest, and we decided to broaden our terrestrial range with these beetles.

Salmon

Some old classics and variations of traditional salmon flies.

Sea Trout

A magnificent specimen of the Haslam Double, adopted as a Welsh favourite!
