Top Ten Flies February 2023

So far this month, we have seen an amazing collection of patterns appear within the chart for February.

Topping the chart is the highly popular dropper pattern, the Klink n Dink, works well when used as an indicator attached to a weighted fly like the Pearly Daddy (3rd), Nobbler Olive (5th), Yellow Dancer (6th) or the Flexi Olive Damsel (8th) all within this month's chart below.

The Connemara Black made it to 2nd place, with its dark colours with enticing deep blue on the wings, create a strong silhouette in the water. This pattern is just as popular in the current colder months, as it is throughout the spring and into the summer - one to keep in your box.

The Green Snail, in 4th position, has been a hit among anglers using sinking lines to hug the bottom where snails are currently clinging to.

Finally, a couple of booby patterns round out this chart, UV Black Cormorant (7th) and Dawsons Olive (10th). These buoyant boobies are designed to be fished on a sinking line, providing a diving movement in the water.
